On ”Ave Eva” swedish black metal Blodskam reinterprets the biblical genesis and celebrates the destructive force of Eve. The six songs tell the story of her bloody mission to destroy the earth, slaughter all its creatures and finally undo God’s creation to restore infinite chaos.
Blodskam was formed back in 1998 by brothers Aghora and Dödfödd, but the band lay dormant for many years. In 2014 they resurrected the band and recorded Lá-Bas, released in 2019 on Suicide records. With Là-Bas gained Blodskam a devoted underground following as well as being praised on national television and Sweden’s largest newspaper. It remains a unique piece of twisted black metal.
Now is the time for a new chapter. Raw, murky and melodic, with ”Ave Eva” Blodskam is continuously forging their own brand of black metal. From the fast and relentless opening riffs of ”Perverse creation” to the epic and bleak ”Chaos Reigns”, Blodskam shows both continuity and development in songwriting and sound.
”Ave Eva” was recorded by Johan Hjelm and mixed and mastered by Magnus "Devo" Andersson (Marduk, Funeral Mist etc) at Endarker studio

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!!

La traversée du désert n'aura pas duré quarante jours mais quatre longues années... Avec Панихида, Батюшка renaît enfin de ses cendres et, bien que désormais seul (ou plus exactement entouré de deux chanteurs), Христофор accomplit un miracle. Il s'inscrit dans la continuité de Литоургиiа avec un black metal orthodoxe qui nous convie ici à une cérémonie dédiée aux morts. Sa vision est englobante : les mélodies, la gravité et le silence font toucher le paradis ; l'agressivité est luciférienne.

Rickard Törnqvist shows his impressive skill and talent yet again. Further improved variation within the songs, the powerful vocals snd the massive production are more than enough to make Black Waves a worthy addition of any collection. And it feeds the curiosity for May the Night Fall.
